In Mt Isa today, Anna announced more than $22 million worth of new projects in the North West over the next three years to create or retain hundreds of jobs in the region.

“This region has been badly hit by the Global Financial Crisis and we know we must do everything we can to create employment during these tough economic times,” Anna said.

The projects include Cloncurry Hospital aged care annex, Cloncurry Pool upgrade, dialysis patient accommodation in Mt Isa, upgrades to Flinders Hwy and Gregory Camooweal Road, and new accommodation for frontline health and police staff.

Anna has the biggest building program in the country, which is supporting local jobs through the global recession.
