Anna then went on to German Creek Mine near Middlemount and announced more key Bowen Basin road upgrades to create local jobs.
A $6 million upgrade will include two sets of passing lanes on the Capricorn Highway near Westwood. This follows a $5 million upgrade to the Peak Downs Highway near Nebo in late January.
“This section of road is the key link between Rocky and the west. West to the Central Highlands and beyond and a critical piece of infrastructure servicing the mining and beef industries,” Anna said.
